After studying English literature at university, Charlotte Simpson built a career in storytelling – first in theatre and then at BBC Radio Four before becoming a freelance writer. But for more than a decade her guiltiest pleasure has been to sneak away from her writing desk to play with clay. She set up a home studio in 2025 and is now developing a ceramic practice that celebrates her greatest passions: most especially for classic literature and storytelling, together with a lifelong obsession with animals, wildlife and the most delicate minutiae of the natural world.
